Yesterday, Microsoft announced the availability of the Technical Preview the
next generation of its productivity suite, code-named Office 15.
This
software is promised in the sense of a public beta in the summer sometimes (just
a little luck will get a taste now), and possibly hitting the market later this
year, most likely at the same time with Windows 8.
In fact, it appears
that Office 15 is built with support for Windows 8, and that he has a load
optimization touches, like the radial menu system.
The only lack is
the UI is said to Metro, which will create true Windows applications 8.
A new article on the Verge of claims that Microsoft Office applications
that will come will actually display more white space, and that it will be f
more ocused on content from previous versions.
Basically, however,
Office 15 will compenents traditional Windows applications, which should keep
them very used on non-touch Windows devices.
A source in the known
quoted claiming that Office 15 will run on ARM in ARM mode 8 restricted the
Windows desktop that should improve power efficiency significantly.
Apparently, Microsoft is planning the release version of the Metro
Office, but had to postpone the plan, as the team behind it is supposed to
overhaul the entire suite for it.
There will be a Metro-style Windows
application built using Office 8 WinRT, namely OneNote and Lync, who both had to
make an appearance in the upcoming Windows Store.
We have been expecting
for some sort of Windows 8 integration in future versions of Office, but it
seems that Microsoft is not ready to make this step.
However, Metro
version of the entire Office suite may indeed arrived, because Microsoft has
made a similar move with Office Mobile on Windows Phone. Until more on this
arise, we should expect additional details on Office 15 will be launched in the
summer, when the beta version of the application arrives.
