Adhesive game developers have announced that they plan to launch Hawken, they
developed a simulation indie mech, on December 12 this year, using the free to
play business model.
Developers have created a new entity, called
Meteor Games, which is set to handle the publishing duties for the new game,
although it is unclear whether the two companies plan to provide for the retail
package or will only offer the Hawken through digital tools.
This game
will be completely free-to-play for those who are interested in and stuff like
weapons, armor and defense systems will be sold by using a micro-transaction
model for all who want to get more out of the game and are willing to pay.
There is a price that is actually mentioned in the game and the
developers Adhesive not say how they plan to ensure that the equipment sold does
not allow multiple players to regularly beat the non-paying their brethren in
the engagements Player versus Player.
Hawken will be set on the planet
who openly industry with a collapsed economy, in which mechs battle each other
in a battle for resources.
The developers plan to provide four core game
mode on the launch, oriented either a free-for-all games and teams, and teams
have also expressed a desire to add something similar to Horde mode from Gears
of War 3.
The number of maps available for launch has not been decided,
but Hawken is expected to gain excessive amounts of post-launch content through
DLC package.
Hawken will be played from the perspective of the first and
gamers will be able to choose from three types of mechs and then adjust their
load-out and the ability of an individual playing style.
Currently the
developers of the game allows players interested Adhesive to use the official
website to sign up for closed beta.
