New OCZ Agility 3 SSDs Offer 180 GB and 360 GB Storage Space

We wrote about the supply, the new high-end OCZ power developed, and now we see several storage products, such as Fatal1ty 1000W, it will only be accessible by a number of customers, at least initially.

Then again, unlike the PSU fans, the reason why not many people will be able to buy a new solid state drives is that they are too expensive (although some may disagree) but they have not been rolled out across the world.

So far, the unit has appeared only in Japan, which makes them a small consumer base at best.

Of course, OCZ will probably release them in the U.S. and Europe also end up, not to mention the rest of Asia.

That said, SSD is part of series 3 Agility and depend on the chip SandForce SF-2281 controller.

With that chip manages data transfer, they are inexpensive, asynchronous NAND Flash memory is able to read data up to 525 MB / s and writes at a maximum of 500 MB / s.

Furthermore, the 4K random write performance of 35,000 IOPS.

Surprisingly, we have the inversion in the performance specification. We used to see where the speed NAND storage unit rises along with capacity, but the reverse is also true in this case.

While the 180 GB SSD can reach the limit above, 360 GB hard limited to 495 MB / s when writing.

OCZ Agility 3 line that already includes members with 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB capacity.

That means that AGT3-25SAT3-180g large enough to fill the gap between the first two, while the newcomers 360 GB (AGT3-25SAT3-360G) sits comfortably between the product 240GB and 480GB.

Price for 180 Agility 3 GB OCZ SSD ¥ 19,000, the equivalent of $ 256/175 Euro, while the 360GB model sells for $ 36,000 ($ 447 / Euro 331.83).
