Download HandBrake 0.9.6 for Mac OS X

Hand brake, the open-source video transcoder multithreaded, has been promoted to version 0.9.6 on a Mac, take a number of platform-specific changes, such as support for OS X Lion and GUI improvements.

VLC 2.x or later will no longer work for the decryption of DVDs, according to the developer. This application is therefore not supported in HandBrake 0.9.6 and libdvdcss is now the preferred method for DVD decryption. HandBrake 0.9.6 provides support for OS X Xcode 4 and 10.7 "Lion". Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" is no longer supported.

In front of the GUI, support for further lion has been added. Widget Live Preview window has been updated to work under the Lion and the position of the widget on the panel Audio has been improved. The application also offers the main window is now wider, providing more space for the various widgets.
